Just recently bought a 2009 420 electric shift and of course I am having trouble with it shifting. I?ve replaced the push button assembly I have also replaced the reducer gear and the shift motor was also bad replaced it but it still will not shift into gear it sounds like it tries to but won?t actually shift into gear I NEED HELP ANY IDEAS?

welcome to the forums. can you shift it through all gears with the emergency shifter ??, if not ?, then your problem is somewhere in the tranny, shifting shaft ?..who knows ?. es's are junk in my book, manual shift all the way for me.

Check out the shifting troubleshooting steps in the Factory Service Manual. Have you put any aftermarket parts on the bike? Connector plugs all clean and waterproof?

Yea you can shift it through the gears with the emergency shifter I know the clutches are going out could that have anything to do with it?

very well could ?, but it should not stop it from shifting through the gears ?, this is a shifting issue, and you must start at the electric shifter, then work your way back to all the shifting part area, which means, you will need to pull the front cover, and have a peek inside there to inspect all these parts.
