2008 Rancher 420 Starter question

In my impatience I pulled the starter off of my machine thinking it was the shift box as I have been having shifting issues with the ES. Now I cannot seem to hold the two small magnets into their slots to put the starter back together. Anyone know anything here? And if anyone can point me to where the shift box is to get old grease out and new in that would be super helpful.

welcome; you could start, by downloading a manual here.

then, getting them starter brushes back in the starter, someone will help. i would't pull the shifter motor, from its housing, till ya read up on shifter motors.
