Ive had this fourwheeler for a while bought it brand new from the dealer and now its got close to 2000 miles on it, about 2 years ago i had a problem where ill be riding in any gear and it will just show up a dash (—) And i cant shift up or down but i can turn it off and shake it down to neutral and ride it again but it happens over and over took it to the dealer and they said they couldnt find a issue with it? Bit confused what to do now been riding it like this and been thinking on trading it in if cant fix the issue

I'm not familiar with ES models at all, I avoid them if I'm honest. If there is one, I'd be tempted to point towards shift angle sensor.
Have you searched Google to see if others experience this issue and to see how they have overcome it?

Yeah, well i did before and now before it was saying it was some sensor but i just forgot about it but now when i look it up i get tons of things some people even say the dash is a system code? Which i thought was crazy im not sure which one is true and which isnt ya know.

Do the dashes blink? If so that is the trouble code you need to look up.
First thing I would do is check the connector at the shift motor. The motor is in the front right side. Take the connector off, clean it out and make sure it is making good contact when you put it back on.

your best bet is to remove the shifting gear cover under the angle sensor, clean out all the old factory grease, re-pack fresh grease back in, check for broken off teeth on the transfer gears, stripped splines on the shifting shaft, then if all is good, put it back together, THEN SELL IT AND GET A MANUAL SHIFT MODEL..LOL.

I like my es, i have done as shadetree said i use my bike in the winter so used a white lithium grease., no shifting issues, clutch adjustment is always a first step.
If it does it while your out, use the manual shift tool turn off an on and it should reset it and your good to go.
When i first removed the cover it had a ton of crap in it.hole job took about 30 minutes
