my manual says intake 0.006in (.015mm) exhaust 0.009in (0.23mm) is my manual wrong?

That's right, that's what my Manuel says, I have the complete repair Manuel too

I adjusted my last spring I think it sounds pretty quiet, there is a little noise kinda of in the front of the motor, it's just a little tick noise I'm pretty sure it's always been there

It's .006 inches and .009 inches

It is .015mm and .023mm if you have a feeler gauge in mm, they are both the same thickness, they are just stating both so you know what they are depending on what feeler gauge is used

mine sound just about the same as before maybe a little bit quieter i only had to adjust the intake some

would i be safe to set the intake at .005 and the exhuast .008 instead of .006 and .009?
