Greetings I got almost brand new storage trx400 2007 engine is perfect condition, did carb rebuilt due to fuel leaking from float bowl, it stop the leak. Now it is hard to start the atv only will start on choke off and throttle, as soon as I let go throttle it dies. Air filter is new spark plug is new battery is new. Any help please thank you. I didn’t change air fuel screw since I don’t have the tool? Can that be a problem?

Did you try adjusting the idle screw? It could be adjusted wrong. Or it could have the mixture screw needle gummed up. Was the carb real dirty?

Yeah the 38 pilot jet is lean. And if you are anywhere that it gets even remotely cold it will be a bear to start. The 42 pilot jet is the way to get it to cold start better. And no worries. Your new and i completely understand. If the carb wasnt very dirty i wouldnt think the mixture screw is dirty. You will want to remove that D shaped screw and put one out of an older carb rebuild kit in it. That one will be flat tip.

Well then your idle cercuit is clogged. Or the idle screw isnt turn up enough to idle. There are small little holes in the carb bore at the bottom that go to where the mixture screw is. The mixture screw has a needle that meters the fuel flow out that small hole and that fuel gets sucked into the engine.
Okay I will check it out idle circuit? Idle cable I see to adjust I also changed the air fuel mixture with new one and did 2 and half turns from bottom thank you. What about choke it should be choke up on for cold starting mine won’t do turn on when it’s choke on only does it choke off. ThNk you
