Guys it’s been over two years, I still have this problem. I have a stock 2007 Honda rancher 420 manual shift. Has anyone figured out this hesitation problem in forward gear only? Reverse and neutral are fine as soon as it’s put in forward it hesitates and sputters and may even stall, it rolls fine, with no drag. When I put it in forward 1st gear she hesitates and sputters and may not even move forward. Click it in neutral and it revs up fine, pull up on the shifter and hold the clutch, rev it up and release clutch in first gear and it will go but may hesitate here and there. Put it in reverse and it all runs fine. It hasn’t been in water and after a year it would have dried by now. I just checked the hand brake inhibitor top switch for continuity and is good. I’m clueless
New day- it’s running real rough in forward, steals, coughing, hesitating, backfiring, but fine in reverse.
