I am getting one long blink followed by 8 short blinks.

The ATV will idle fine, but will not accelerate.

What could be wrong and if a component is named, how can I verify if its faulty.

whats it say in the service manual? [you can get one at this site if ya dont have one].. gas/air flow mixture??, or lack thereof?. how long ya had this atv?, what type of fuel did ya run, in it, etc.?

Code 8 indicates a voltage issue at the TP sensor. See the attachment... you'll need to read a copy of the service manual from the manuals forum to work on it:

You may have to perform an ECM reset procedure once the issue is solved, can't remember for sure... its in the manual if ya do. In other words, throwing parts at it without any reading and diagnosis won't fix anything.
