Hey, I pulled my engine to replace the starter clutch, everything went smoothly, engine back in, connected everything up and it won't start...
When I turn the key you can hear the fuel pump etc.. but when I press the start button there is nothing. The display is also showing the little bar instead of N, it isn't flashing, just stays on and it won't select any gears. Tried the manual lever and it will go up and down the gears but nothing on the buttons.
If i pull the front brake it and press the start button, it will churn but won't start.
Pulled the plug and it has a good spark but it's dry....
Are these problems related or have I 2 separate issues here... bike was fine apart from starter clutch...
Help please...

When taking engine out, what else did you disconnect to get to it? Electrical wise. Tell us exact steps you took to remove engine. This will help think of what could've happened

I followed the manual as described, the carb and associated electrics came off, shift motor was off, fuel pump & starter.
The rest of the electric loom was just set to the side to lift off the rear plastics...
I just pulled the fuel line at the injector and it was under pressure, turned ignition on and off and there was petrol coming through which would suggest that the injector wasn't being told to open or such like...

Check charge on battery and be sure there isn't anything on wires that may can interrupt the wires charge. Start from one spot (where problem is) and work from there. If you have a multimeter, look in manual and see what the diodes should register at and check them. Sounds like it may be a bad wire or short somewhere

We'll work on getting that fixed first then you'll have to record it cranking. Alot can be told just by listening

So after a few busy days of sheep lambing here at home I managed to squeeze a few hours in today on the bike...
Checked through all the electrics I could and couldn't find any issues... all connections got contact cleaner and blew out.. anything I could check voltages on were all in spec.
I ohmed the injector and it was reading 12.3, which I think is ok so I'm wondering if the injector isn't opening because there are no gears registering??
Pulled the angle sensor and manually changed gear, the shaft turns a little bit, manually into 2nd and it moves but settles back to where it was. Should it not continue to move it's way round it's arc?
I have a small video if I can figure out how to post it...

Pulled engine apart again... Doh!
Turns out I had put the case on with the gear position switch 180° out.. didn't even notice that there was a slightly longer side on the pin and it was only after reading the manual for the umpteenth time that I noticed that the longer end MUST face the large N imprinted on the case...
Built everything back up and she's starting on the button and shifting gears a treat. .
