Hi all,

Can someone please help me.... I was enjoying doing a firework show and had a very extremely heavy launching pad. I towed it up a hill to put into my friends truck. it weighs around 300lbs. well while doing it I had it in first and the gear just popped out. I was riding the clutch and never really had it all the way out. After unhooking the launching pad and riding my quad around it now will ride in all gears however the clutch does not work until I almost fully let it out. it does this in all gears. and the clutch lever is very tight without any give to it. Does this just need adjusted or do you think I need a new clutch. I really hope it wasnt my transmission I damaged. It was very heavy and I should have never tried to pull it. So my clutch does not grab gear until I have the lever almost all the way let out. Before it would grab right away and then ride it out softly. Please help...

You could try adjusting it at the cable as long as the clutch isn't slipping. If the clutch is slipping or starts slipping, you'll have to replace the friction discs in the clutch.

You might get lucky and be able to adjust the cable but I think you may have caused some damage...

Like these guys said try to adjust the clutch first. If it does not work after adjusting it replace the clutch.

It sounds like you bernt the clutches some. I would go with what the above said. If the clutches have to be replaved its not that hard of a job to do. Welcome to the forums.

More than likely, it did cause some damage to the clutch, but it might not be too noticeable right now if you can adjust the cable. Usually, when the clutches first start to slip, it's hard to tell but they will keep getting worse. So it might seem OK now, but it'll probably start getting worse later.

Glad you got it fixed. If it starts slipping later, you will have to replace the fiction discs, but hopefully it will be OK.

Hi there sorry to here your situation. but you can try to adjust the cable but if it doesn't work then most likely you have damage your clutch system
