I attempted to remove the Spark Arrester to clean and of course sheered 2/3 bolts. No biggie, I drilled them out and got that taken care of but I noticed my spark arrester looks significantly different than the ones I see that are supposed to match my 500 Rubicon.

I thought it was supposed to be a piece of holed sheet metal that emissions could pass through, or is this just grossly built up and corroded? can anyone confirm or deny this for me?

Someone cut the screen off it.
On the plus side you'll never have to remove it to clean it again.
I've done this to a few atvs/bikes, we dont need em in canada and you cant remove them to clean them after a few years so your better off without them.

I feel like a doofus not noticing that, especially given the bottom section where I can visibly see that it’s been cut, now lol. Thanks for the info!
