New to the forum - came across this forum while researching my issue. Lots of good info on here.

- I have a 2006 Rancher 350 es
- Ignition fuse (10A) is blowing
- after blowing the fuse the neutral and reverse lights come on at same time ( posting this symptom because I found an older post where someone said it's not possible for both to be on at the same time)
- the gear indicator displays --

Saw a recent post from a member with a similar issue. The fuse would blow when shifting to 3rd. Mine has blown twice now and the 2nd time it blew I had just shifted to 3rd. I will test this today and see if the gear position has anything to do with it.

Hoping someone can help by pointing out a common issue known to blow the ignition fuse

Thanks in advance for any advice or help

what I find odd is, most ignition fuses on most Honda's are not 10amp !, they are more like 30amp if I remember right ?. before you start tearing random things apart ?, start with the headlights !. most lighting systems on Hondas run off a 10amp fuse. if your getting dashes on display ?, this would tell me your shift motor is not making a good gear change ?. maybe from the gears inside the change area ?. have a look at all your light bulb sockets, look for anything corroded ?, broken wires ?. mice loveeeeeeeeeeee to chew on honda wires !..lol. you can narrow the 3rd gear problem down by jacking the atv up off the ground ( all 4 wheels ), use the emergency shifter, unplug the electric shifter from the harness, manual shift through the gears, and see if it still blows fuses ?, if it does not ?, then that should tell you where to start looking..the es shift motor !. i am not the smartest when it comes to tracing electrical problems with honda atvs ?, but i do/can know where to start looking :).

I’m having a similar problem. I have a 2006 Rancher ES and it’s blowing the IGN Fuse. When I turn the key it blows. Put a new battery in it a couple weeks ago. My gear display is only showing “—“ Any help with this is great!
