I have a 2006 Honda rancher es. About 2 weeks ago it fell off my trailer driving down the highway. It had some cosmetic damage to the plastic and racks, and broke the front cv axle. It was still driveable otherwise.
Yesterday I replaced the axle, did some straightening on the racks, and everything seemed ok.
Today I started the machine, and went to turn the lights on and they kind of fluttered, then they went off along with the dash. I shut the machine off, turned the key back on and nothing. So I pulled the starter rope and it fired right up. It still drives, and the electric shift works fine too. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on why my electric isn't working.

check the connections for the ignition switch and display.

maybe you pinched a wire in the accident and it blew a fuse

can't be, he said it shifts just fine, and we all know..they won't shift worth a dang if the battery is bad.

Will the alternator be able to power the shifter while running? It was a stretch that’s why I fingered the battery.
