2006 honda 400 trxfa, stuck in 4th gear. ecu blinks 12 times, telling me it is ecu, bad wire harness conection or the gear posistion switch. i looked at the parts breakdown and cannot find gear posistion switch. is it the same thing as a sensor asm angle ?

if it's stuck in 4th gear..that alone should tell you it's not your ecu..bad wire connection..more than likely it's your angle sensor..honda had a recall on these models for this reason.

thanks, i have a angle sensor on order, about 3 days. honda website was not very clear if my model was on recall. do you know for sure if my model is on recall?

thanks. very helpful forum. i like honda, but seems like there is alot of problems with the speed sensor. this is probably why honda in 2011 models you will have a choice for a foot shifter or esp . i was looking for a foot shifter in 2006, only foot shifter available was the 250cc.

The 350 Rancher and the 500 Foreman were also available in the foot shift models in 2006.
