Hello everyone, first I would like to say what a great site you have here. Lots of great info. The problem I am having is as follows: The other day I was out riding and I stopped the quad for a little break. When I got back on and went to shift into gear nothing would happen, the indicator showed that I was in 1st gear and it even made that little move forward as if it went in gear but when I gave it throttle it wouldn't move. I could shift it up or down and it wouldn't move. Took it to my guy and he is looking at. He said he thought he heard of an issue with a nut slipping off of the front of the gear box holding the parts in. He asked if I was going down hill at the time, which I was, and he said that this is when it usually happens. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post guys. Thanks again.

Welcome to the forums. Before tearing into it, I would adjust the clutch free play. I would try to read out any trouble codes stored. Does the gear position indicator blink when you turn the key on? Also, make sure the battery is fully charged or the electric shift won't function.
I have a 2006 500 foreman electric shift. I am also having similar problems with my bike. Mine will shift up just fine but wont shift down. If I turn the bike off for about 5 min it will shift again but thats it. then it quits again. not sure why don't know much about the elec. shift are there cables in there or is it shifted by solonoids? what could the problem be? Thanks a bunch.
Welcome to the forums. No cables, it uses an electric motor to shift. Does the gear position indicator blink when you turn the key on? If so, it's indicating a trouble code and you need to count the number of flashes to get the code.
