Hello everyone,
I’m a newbe both to forums and to quads. I’m hoping to pick your brains a bit. I have this quad that when you start it cold it idles perfectly and shifts into gear without a whimper. I use it to plow my driveway which takes about a hour if you include my fun time. Today, I started plowing the snow and the machine was running flawlessly for about 30 minutes. I stopped at the end of the driveway to turn the blade and the idle started to rev. I blipped the throttle a couple times to see if it would go back to a normal idle. It didn’t so I shut the machine off and restarted it. I could hear the idle starting to rev again, so I blipped the throttle again, and when then Idle was at a low point, I slammed her into gear. I applied throttle and the machine wouldn’t move. I shut it off, went into the house pouting cause I enjoy plowing the driveway unless the wife notices. I let the machine sit in the cold for a couple hours. Then, I started it and drove it back into the garage. I let it run a bit, and the Idle started to rev again. Any ideas of what would cause this intermittent good quad, bad quad? I’m suspecting a possible ECM issue. Anyone heard of something like this?
