I can't seem to figure out why it won't turn on when you turn the key for the 2-5 seconds like its suppose to, I have went ahead and replaced the oil temp sensor, the fan works when grounding it out to the motor and the oil light comes on, But does not for the key turn, everything seems to be working, went for the drive the fan comes on before the oil temp as it should i assume, fan doesn't seem to turn off though unless you turn the bike off, never over heated so the oil light never came on. 212F for the fan? and 300 or so for the light? maybe it doesn't for this model of bike no idea at this point, my 2003 honda 350 oil light comes on for 2-5 seconds on the key turn.

It is an old bike with alot of work done to it,new clutches, top end, replaced the ECM with another, Not exactly sure what is going on or if there is any issue, Fan does come on, maybe best to leave it alone. It was one of them odd bikes honda discontinued right away, it worked great for 22,000 before i went ahead and had all of its issues narrowed down. seems to be a great working bike otherwise then this little issue if its even worth fixing since its an old bike.

Anyways any suggestions are welcomed, thanks

Im going to assume no reply means good, i have cleaned out the oil radiator since i made this thread, huge improvement on cooling, i've decided to not push my luck did abit of research and i i think the light for on the key turn isn't for this model, maybe if anything this thread will be useful for someone with one of these atv's that honda stopped making pretty quickly, I am located in Canada, abit of history on the bike, I understand these bikes where stopped being made because of many reasons, i'm not sure on all of it, Electrical nightmare, Lack of power, I can say that i pounded this bike into the ground for many years before doing major work on it,As years went on it become less dependable and was forgot about between 2013-2016 it sat in the woods,

Some of the core issues that i have found and fixed with this bike are,

Carburetor rubber mounting flange, Air being sucked in around the flange, causing a horrible run situation.
Idle jet replaced, Allowed to much fuel, causing a rich situation, hole was oversized (someone used a torch tip cleaner made it oversized by accident)
Carburator fixed, and cleaned throughly,
Fuel tank petcock replaced, would allow fuel past in the off position.
Needle and float replaced, would allow fuel to run out the overflow when shaking the bike.
ECM replaced, Shifting returned to normal apon first impression.
Shifting issues returned when it got warm, Angle sensor was the issue and a dirty shift motor, cleaned up,replaced Angle sensor, now works very well.
Clutches replaced, I had got the bike hot once pulling someone out of a mudhole, and the clutches slipped, did alot of hard pulling with it for along time/plowing snow.(fixed last winter)
piston, rings, bore oversized, Valve seals replaced. (current compression is between 70-85) has been used since top end rebuild. seems to work fine.
Oil temp sensor replaced with OEM honda one. 208-212F seems to be the point at which the fan kicks on, takes a fair bit of riding to get it warm enough for the sensor to ground out.
All grounds cleaned up.
Starter motor repaired, Would click and slip.

For this particular bike and model it has been a good bike, i know other people would tell most people to run away from these 04 models, most likely this one to. probably a good idea, Lol

Had some issues finding parts for this bike as i understand there was only 1000-2000 sold in canada before honda put a stop to it. (Honda wants insane money for some of the parts)
Reason for fixing it up, was a good bike for many years, before all the cursed 2004 issues started to plague it, fun to see what is wrong with them and fix it, i am no professional, Just trying to learn the ins and out.

Hope this becomes useful for the few remaining owners out there of this bike.

I don't believe it does,( I could be wrong, probably am) I've looked and looked over the Manuel, Might be built into the ECM, Watched a video on youtube of the same bike, light didn't turn on when he turned the key, I've also learned that they're normally up under the front fender (cannot locate anything) Thanks for the reply, and yeah you won't find me out looking for a 2004 model honda atv of any kind to buy and fix, Figured since i already owned it, i mights well take a chance and see what i can do for it.

Ive pretty much given up the dash light on the key turn at this point, I'm grateful the fan even turns on by itself haha

Will update if anything further goes wrong with it, At this point everything seems to be in working order thankfully, Till then, take care all readers.
