2004 Honda TRX400FA VSS or Comb. Meter?

I am having a problem with the odometer on my rancher clicking off about 20 miles for every mile ridden. Reading the shop manual I was unable to determine if this would be a problem surrounding one of the vehicle speed sensors or the combination meter. If anyone has any suggestions before I start replacing them I would appreciate it.

Yes

It does have a digital readout. Is the mileage calculated by ground speed in the digital readout meter?
