I need some suggestions, my honda starts and runs fine, idles fine with both choke on and off. But if you slide the choke off and try and take off it backfires, jerks and then dies. Ive run a fuel cleaner so far. Any suggestions, please let me know

Water in your fuel would be the easiest thing to check for first , there is a drain screw on the bottom of the carb, if that don't fix it , then I would clean the carb and tank and put fresh gas non-ethanal ---then start looking for other causes

backfires exhaust, or intake[carb]? do ya use ethanol gas? 2004 may just be ready, for a rebuild kit.
