Recently bought the quad it has a 416 kit,stage 2 hot cam, open air air box with uni filter, and outwears cover. The problem I thought was the carb went through it cleaned and when down in jetting because it ran to rich when I got it. I set it back to factory jetting after I cleaned and rebuilt carb and now have alot of black smoke when giving throttle. Really stumped here please help

What were the jet sizes in it? What did you drop too? And i would make 100% sure the choke is turning off. Could be a stripped choke lever making you think its off but not actually turning the choke valve in carb. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks lol! Checked the chock I've ran it with no airbox or filter see what would happen still to rich I believe it was a 48 pilot and 165 main

48 pilot is crazy big for a 416 with a cam! Drop that to a 45 or even a 42. Where is your mixture screw set? Main jet is gunna be fairly close. Maybe a tad lean but mostlikely trying to compensate for a mega rich pilot jet. Where is the needle clip set also?

Actually its I went and looked it was a 42 pilot with a 160 main

I've put stock ones that cam with the rebuild kit and it wouldn't start then put the 42 pilot and 160 main it runs but it spits black smoke when giving it throttle
