I have a 2003 Rubicon 500 ATV that is acting like the tranny is in a higher gear than 1st. A lot higher. Have replaced the angle sensor, gear position sensor, and ECU. Took to Honda shop in Shawnee Mission, Ks and they said it would take going in to the automatic transmission to figure out what was wrong. Any ideas or persons who could help would be wonderful. Live north of Topeka, KS if you know anyone who lives in this area or in the Kansas City area that would work on it for less than the $140 and hour the Honda place wanted. Thanks.

I’ve heard nothing good about those early 2000 trannies or what it takes to fix. You can search for topics on it and find most have to remove the engine and split the bottom end.

$140/hour is normal here too but instead we get the $70/half hour.

Some other members can explain what it might require and if it can be fixed
