I'm new to the forum and tried the search function without any luck on this issue.

I have a 2003 Rancher ES that has blown the 15 amp light fuse this past weekend. I replaced the fuse and it worked for about 20 seconds and the fuse blew again.

Any advice on where to begin looking for a short? The fuse runs the lights as well as the display. I'm hoping someone has run across this before and has a simple solution.

I am not having this as a problum. but I did electrical trouble shoolting for almost 40 years.

first thing I would do is put a smaller rated fuse. call it a sarafice fuse, you do not want to keep blowing the 15 amp fuses as the insulation may melt on the wiring.

pull the light out then insert lower ampere fuse..
if you have access to a wiring diagram than it makes it much easiere to see what is on the load side of that fuse.
if the only thing on that fuse circuit is switch and light, and don't forget that the possibility of a bad socket.
Do you have to turn the switch on to blow a fuse?
Your best bet is get hold of a schematic.
I you are able to get hold of an ohm meter to test for continuety, please remember to disconnect the battery first, or you may accidently ruin the metere.
