Hi new here. I have a 02 450 es that is showing 36 volt with the + cable disconnected and running. Also when the key is off, and a charger hooked up it shows 16 V, but turn the key on and it jumps to 22 v, without the engine running. Problem started on A RIDE when the battery started boiling over. If i take the ign fuse out the voltage will not change when i turn the key on, but will increase when i put the fuse back in. Could this be the rectifier or generator? Can not understand why it would still overcharge without the engine running.Any help would be welcomed. BTW it still happens with the rectifier unplugged.

Welcome to the forums..
I would guess that you may have a bad regulator, or somehow moisture go to the stator or another electrical component.
