I have a 2002 honda rancher 350TM. Couple years ago the wrist pin seized up and dug out the cylinder walls. It has sat since then. I finally decided to rebuild the top end and got it all back together and it will turn over but I don't have any spark to the plug. Checked voltage on the wires going to the coil and there is no power going to the coil even when I turn it over. Kill switch is in the on position and all the fuses are good. I have checked all the harness plugs and the harness wires and couldn't find any issues there. Any ideas on where to go next?

Welcome to the forum.

Where are you in Arkansas? I'm close to Helena.

I would guess CDI or regulator. CDI"s aren't cheap but most other 350 parts are. You don't want to start throwing parts at it, and you certainly don't want to use any aftermarket electrical parts. OEM Honda only.

You can download the factory service manual here that will give you step by step troubleshooting steps.

Down in Crossett. Its about 15 miles from the Louisiana line. I thought the CDI at first but wasn't sure. I had to replace it when the bike was still under warranty but when it went out the first time the bike wouldn't even try to turn over.

Thanks for the service manual upload. Hopefully I will be able to troubleshoot it. Electrical diagnosis is never fun. And with it being as old as it is, like you said, I don't want to start throwing parts on it especially expensive ones if I don't have to.

You might check the voltage regulator. I've had two 350 Ranchers that had fried regulators on them.

Powersportsnation.com has cheap OEM used bits that they guarantee if you don't want to buy new parts, and prices include shipping.
