OK guys... my ole '02 sat up for 3 years and with new carb and links and hoses...SHE FIRED RIGHT UP and runs like a scalded dog! Gotto love Honda...But...alias...she has a NOSE DRIP of gasoline out the little hose off the carb. It looks like a 'pressure check' valve on the hose and it too is new. It did this last week at 1/2 tank of gas, so I filled her up and it stopped. But, went into shed this AM and there was the gasoline 'nose drip' again...at full tank. So...how do I repair this 'money in the dirt' issue? It was doing this with the OLD CARB but stopped 8 months ago when I slapped in the new carb kit. What is the issue? What is the repair? I can see the drip..drip...drip out of the hose and there are no other leaks anywhere...and..she still fires up and runs.. (can I just plug this hose and end the drips?) thanks in advance...

Miles on new carb...ehhhh... 50 maybe...

There is a float in the carb. When the carb bowl gets full, the float goes up, and a needle on the front stops more fuel from flowing into the carb.

When you get crap in the carb, that needle doesn't seal with the seat, and you get a leak.

If you plug the drain line, the fuel has to go somewhere so it ends up in the crankcase (bad) or the airbox (still not good).

Take the carb off, take the bowl (#5) off the bottom (4 screws). Take the float (#4) out (drive pivot pin out), take the float needle (#18) and lightly polish the tip with some 0000 steel wool.

Now look at the seat (where that needle goes) and put some polishing compound or even toothpaste on a qtip, put it in a drill, and use the end to polish the brass seat where the needle valve seats.

That should stop your drip.

Thanks man! Yea...on the OLD carb when I disassembled it...the PIN was actually STUCK in the recess... I had to use some WD 40...then carb cleaner to get it to budge.. BUT let it sit for 3 years with gas in the bike...that is what you get... I'll yank her out and do some polishing work as you suggest...
Thanks again buddy...
