When I brought out of storage my 350ES after sitting for a year the electric shift no longer worked. the bike is very rarely us. only one week out of the year. Can any body tell me where to start. It tries to sift but can't

Welcome to the forums. Is the battery fully charged? A low battery can cause them not to shift properly.

The 2001 doesn't store codes in the computer like the 2003-up, so you pretty much just have to go through all the electric shift components and check each one. Here is a link to a service manual for the 2000-2003 Rancher 350 that will show you how to check the components.
