2001 Rancher 350 question

I have a 2001 rancher 350. It has a control unit part number of 38910 hn5 a11. I cannot find them hardly anywhere, but 38910 hn5 m11 are everywhere. Would this work in replacement of the 38910 hn5 a11?

The A11 is for 00-02 350 Ranchers.

The M11 is for 04-06.

Get the right part for your bike. Prices are practically the same.

The A11 is on back order and they do not know when it will come in. The M11 are everywhere. Just wondering if it will work or not.
I actually ordered it through partzilla. They don't know when it will come in.

Don't know, but it would be a pricey paper weight if it didn't since electrical bits are not returnable.

I have been waiting for only 4 months. I have decided to investigate the hardware difference between 2001 & 2003 schematics following common parts. If the ECU/Shift control inputs and outputs are common parts I'll be trying an M11 part on my 2001 TRS350FE. Updates will be posted here if anyone is interested.

I have been waiting for about a month now. It would be awesome if you could let me know if M11 works. I've found plenty of used ones in the $100 range so if it works that would be a huge win.

Bumping this thread. Looks like the A11 is still unavailable. Does it look like that M12 is compatible?

BikeBandit lists the M as fitting 2000-2006. In their breakdown it lists the M.
