Just changed the timing chain on a 2001 Honda Rubicon I recently purchased. Put bike back together and it started and worked fine, but only after a day of riding the chain stretched and jumped timing again. The water pump didn't feel like it was bad before I installed it, What else could cause the chain to stretch in just a day? Tensioner works fine also.

Does the tensioner have spring action?
My only other guess would be to look for things that case friction on the crank to stretch a chain like does the engine covers and case have gaskets or did someone use sealant instead? The engine needs gaskets because they create a space otherwise things squeeze together and bind up.
Or do you have very large oversized tires or ride bogged in mud?
