I recently just acquired a 2001 TRX 250 Honda Recon that has seen better days. Went through the entire thing including new front shoes, carb, oil change etc.... Now to my question. The pedal for the rear brakes happened to be frozen when i got the ATV. So i freed up the brake pedal now it moves freely and works great. I try the rear brakes while its free and nothing happens. With the pedal all the way down the rear brakes do not work. I have never messed with the rear drums/shoes before on and ATV and confused as to why it is like this. Assuming a simple adjustment on the brake cables going to the rear drum or maybe even something else. Any idea on what could get my rear brakes to work again?

Thanks!!

tear into the rear brake area, and see what all needs replacing ?. you can't expect an old model like yours to work like new do ya ?..lol. down load the service manual..and GET-R-DONE !..LOL. a member here @GirlsRideToo just did her recon rear brakes ( with the help of us )..if she can pull this off ?..I SEE NO REASON WHY YOU CAN'T ?!..LOL.
