2001 Fourtrax 350 clutch slipping

Looked at this quad yesterday with a thought to bid on it. It has a number of issues , the biggest being the slipping clutch. It has been dormant for almost two years and he said it was working well when he parked it. In this model, what may be the likeliest cause. centrifugal or plate??? And is there any way to make adjustments that he or I did not notice? Other than that and a bad right knuckle, the bike seems OK. Thanks

Thanks guys. That is the sort of info I was after. This is a pretty decent machine and if I won't need to spend a lot on the clutch, it may be a good deal(for here) He will let me have it for $1400 if it is not sold for more by the weekend. That includes the service manual and a new winch. Needs tires and a right knuckle though--and I noted that he has stripped the threads out of the front diff drain plug.

So is the later 350's different working than the older ones? It is my understanding that the purpose of the one way clutch bearing was to transmit turning grip when transmitted to the engine(kick starting and wheels turning the engine), but would free turn when the engine was applying torque to the wheels. My old 350 went great with a worn one way brg--just would not engine brake or kick start.
Unless the later 350 is set up different, the one way bearing should not be the cause of an apparent slipping clutch. Perhaps I need to be enlightened. LOL

Well, the weekend came and is now almost gone--and today I made the deal for the ATV. Think I got a pretty good deal, but I will know better after I get the few issues sorted out. Clutch slips-bad right front knuckle--worn tires. The rest is minor and the bike should shine up pretty good over the next few days.
