2001 Fourtrax 350 clutch slipping

Looked at this quad yesterday with a thought to bid on it. It has a number of issues , the biggest being the slipping clutch. It has been dormant for almost two years and he said it was working well when he parked it. In this model, what may be the likeliest cause. centrifugal or plate??? And is there any way to make adjustments that he or I did not notice? Other than that and a bad right knuckle, the bike seems OK. Thanks

most times..after a bike has been sitting for some time..the clutch disk will sieze together..after you ride it for awhile..most will come undone..not always mind you..but..they will work loose...what year is it ?..if it's not too old..this may solve your problem..if not..then just put some new clutch disk in it..problem solved !!..also would like to add..the centrifugal clutch arms will sieze up too..after some ridding..they will work loose also.
would like to throw this out there to ya bro..after rebuilding my 2000 350 rancher...cranking it up..and it would not move at all..well..i thought the clutch disk needed adjusting..nope !!!..sooo..two tear downs later ( yes i wasn't pleased at all )..lol..this is when my dumb arse put the one-way clutch bearing in backwards !!..soooo..after putting it in the right way..it worked like a charm !!..moral of the story..these one-way bearings not only allow you to crank the bikes..but they also grip so the motor will move it !!..sooooo..keep this in mind..if and when you tear it down..and don't find anything wrong with your clutch disk..try checking out the one-way bearing for bearing wear !!!.
So is the later 350's different working than the older ones? It is my understanding that the purpose of the one way clutch bearing was to transmit turning grip when transmitted to the engine(kick starting and wheels turning the engine), but would free turn when the engine was applying torque to the wheels. My old 350 went great with a worn one way brg--just would not engine brake or kick start.
Unless the later 350 is set up different, the one way bearing should not be the cause of an apparent slipping clutch. Perhaps I need to be enlightened. LOL
not sure if i understand what you don't understand ??..but..i was pointing out the centrifugal clutch one-way bearing also moves the bike as the well as for starting it..in other words..as your rpm's increase..this throws the centrifugal arms outwards inside the bell housing..which..in turn..grips the bell housing..and transfers the torque power to the clutch disk pack..then goes to the transmission..does this make sinse ?.
