Hello all:
Been awhile since I was on here... but I have a question that I need answered by the pro's

I had 60 psi compression and no leak off.
Quad would crank but not start.
I took off the head and found that the intake valve had a thin layer of rust.
It was stuck down.
Got it out and use a wire brush to clean it all up.
neither valves stick now and the rest looks pristine.
The piston and rings look really great.

So now that I am about to put it all back together ... what do you folks do to prep it back and get it together?

oil the gaskets etc etc ?
let me know please so I don't overlook and mess this one up.

are you planning on replacing all the top end gaskets ?, I hope so !, once they are used ?, most times you can not re-use them ?, but !!!, if they are fairly new ?, go buy a can of copper spray from autozone, spray both sides on the head gasket, about 3 even coats, same on rocker box cover gasket. this should keep it running without issues, has for me in the past !. put the head back together, lay it upside down, pour some fuel into piston area ( spark plug in ), top it off, let it sit for a bit, if fuel does not leak past the valves ?, then your golden. if it does leak ?, you will need to lap the valve seats, which means you will need a new intake valve.

also, did you run the intake valve in a drill, check for wobble/bent ???. that should be first on your list !.

ok found that the camshaft was broken ordered one and put it in today

now I am redoing the piston and bore
also SHADETREE i got new valves

So I got the camshaft and chain installed.
Put in new valves per SHADETREE !!
did a new top end rebuild and it started it right up
new carb was cheaper on ebay than the kit

its ready to rock and roll now
