Hi I’m Doing the oil pump chain and timing chain on a 2000 recon. It appears that the timing chain for the 97-00 models or part # 14401-HM8-003 has been discontinued. Has anyone tried putting an 02 or newer cam chain in the older 97-00 model? I know there a different part number and the new ones are thinner than the old ones. I’m just wondering if they perhaps they still will fit the same?
