I have a 2000 foreman 450 manual shift. I haven't driven it for a couple years before this past summer, but i had it out a few times since august. I was driving around probaly going about 40 klms, when the overheating light came on. So i started heading back home and about 5 mins after the light came on, it started to bog out or something like that, then shut off. It wouldn't start for a couple minutes after that. Now ever since I start it up, and not even drive for a minute, it will do the same thing. Light turn on, then shut off. One time as soon as I turned it on, the light came on, but after letting it warm up for a min or two, the light shut off and worked fine. The past couple days, i would try to drive it, the light would come on for a bit, then work fine, or not turn on at all. Oh ya, and the fan comes on sometimes too.
Does anyone know what it could be? I would really appreciate your advice.
Thanks

oil temp sensor is going bad from the sound of it..you also might wanna check your oil...make sure you have plenty of oil..good thing the fan is comming on..otherwise your motor could lock up..,,check your oil filter..you might not be getting a good oil flow. start with those checks..keep us posted.

are you saying your battery won't hold a charge ?..or..it's not chargeing ?..big difference..if it's not holding a charge..then your battery prob has a dead cell in it..if the battery is kinda new..and it's not chargeing..then you could have a bad stator..or rectifier..these two things recharge the battery..and run the elec system...check all wireing before you go and start replacing everything...lol..if all of your wireing is ok..then ohm your stator..see if it has a short..if your stator check's out ok..then check your rectifier..< square box with fins >..see if it's good.
