Just purchased. Has been sitting outside for 3 years. I have managed to get the engine to spin and have good spark but it still won’t start. I did put a little gas in the spark plug hole but it won’t hit at all. Help please

Gas in the spark plug hole could just flood it. If you’re sure it has good spark, I’d pull the carb off and see if it will hit on starting fluid. Start turning it over first and give it a SMALL shot of ether. If it still won’t hit I’d start looking at compression. If it’s low, it could be cracked/bent valves, cracked piston, worn cylinder, or rings.
