The heat rang determins how the fuel is burnt I believe. I think that may be a little too high. Helmut post a sparkplug 101 up here check that out, it should give you some knowledge about how to choose the correct plug.

Yes, you will have performance gains from those mods. I agree that the car spark plug might be too much. If there is no spitting or sputtering through the RPM range you should be in the correct neighborhood for jetting. How does the spark plug look?

No, just use whatever the manual calls for. Or at least I have never noticed a difference.

You change your plug every 5 or 6 rides? I have changed mine 2 times in 3 years.

Just pull your current plug and see what color it is. If it is wet and black, you are rich. If it is a nice tan color, you are correct. If it is white you are lean.

Put a fresh plug in, warm up the quad and mash it all the way into 5th gear and then kill your motor. Pull the plug and see what it looks like.

It is your own choice but IMO you are wasting money on that many plugs. I ride in the Rocky Mountains and I race desert races, I know all about hills and bouncing off the limiter. How do your plugs look when you pull them?

That is what i do too. Hell, your plugs are still good I'm sure when you are pulling them. But like I said, it is your choice.
