Hey Folks. I got my 1998 Recon, non-running just over a week ago. Since a major carb clean it runs great. But, when I got it, the air filter was shot. It disintegrated in my hands and tossed it. I ordered a Honda replacement, part number 17254-HM8-000. But, when it came in, it appears to be too large in diameter and the rubber neck that slips over the fitting in the air box is way too big. My clamp wont fit over it and the metal air cleaner body is too small.

Essentially, everything foam and rubber in part number 17254-HM8-000 is too big.

I checked a few Honda sources and I dont see where Honda offered 2 different air filters.

Any ideas here?

Thanks for the help!

I’m not familiar with your model ATV but i know a lot of guys cross reference part numbers using Partzilla. Maybe that would help you find the correct part?

Take your filter screen in and air box to see if they can find one to fit. Dont leave till you get one to fit how YOU want it to.
