Shift lever is completed rusted on to my Honda TRX300. Don't want to break anything. Any suggestions on how to release this lever?

Have you got the bolt out? Once the bolt is out you can use a puller on it, or spread the clamp open a bit by tapping a narrow blade into the gap. If the bolt is seized try spraying it down with Kroil penetrating oil and let it sit for 48 hours or so. If you can support the lever clamp with a heavy backer you can hammer on the bolt head a bit to help break the bonds and speed up the Kroil effectiveness. Don't hit it unless its properly supported with something heavy (a sledge hammer makes a good backup) though.
