I just bought a honda fourtrax 300 4x4 and when coasting down hill with almost no load in the driveline their a loud knock coming from somewhere inside the driveline. I checked the teeth from the oil fill in the front diff and they look OK visually. What could this be? Other things to check for looseness? Thanks

No I can not. Also would it make a knock as if it was biding up if I have smaller tires up front than in the rear. I'm running in the rear 25's and up front 23's. It sounds like something is binding up and unloading and knocking.

I would suggest jacking the quad up on stands all the way around and then start it up and put it in gear and let it idle in gear and see if you can determine where it may be coming from then...riding and listening isn't a good choice to do, your more focused on what the noise is rather than where your going.

Yeah smaller tires on the front would cause major problems with the drive train but the stock size for your year is as follows TRX300 92-00 Front 23x8x11 4/110 Rear25x11x9 4/110 so thats not your problem. I agree with TRX2fiveO put it up on jack stands and see if you can get a more precise location of the knock.
