Hello, My father-inlaw has a 300 fourtrax that his on has worked on. He is a good mechanic, but is having problems getting the right front and rear breaks adjusted right on it. Now I am stuck with this task and need help!!!!!!! :hail:LOL The rear will not grab or release, and the right front will not expand. So the only breaks are the left front. Any help will be great. Thanks

Have you tried adjusting the front brakes and bleeding them?

If you haven't already, you'll probably have to take the cover off the back brakes and take the drum off and clean it and the brakes shoes and maybe replace the shoes. The back brakes are bad about getting full of mud. You might want to take the little shaft that the brake lever clamps on, out and clean and put a thin coat of grease on it, so it will move easier.
Yeah, the 300's are great bikes. Let us know if you need help and we will try to help you.
I agree, the rear drum brakes don't work too good with new shoes on.
i have seen the front disc conversion for 4x4s, do they make it for 2wd too? and submarine, there any issues with you removing your rear drum brake? and what did you do about a parking brake?
Here is a kit that works for 2wd. NOTE: You have to have 12 inch rims.

Honda Front Disc Brake Kit #327

If he removed his rear drum, I'm sure he doesn't have a parking brake, but you can just put the ATV in low gear and it won't roll on a hill. Put it in reverse if you're sitting with the rear of the ATV pointing down hill.
