Hello I have a 1996 honda fourtrax 200 type 2 I have rebuilt the carb all adjustment screws are at factory specs and needle on the middle clip. I put a brand new spark plug and installed a brand new ignition coil trying to fix this problem but I can not get to the bottom of it, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. It only spits and sputter between 0 and 60 percent throttle after that it goes it does not feel down on power but it will not idle correctly it will idle fine for a second and then idle will slow down and then it shuts off. It also spits gas out of the carburetor where the air filter connects. I am completely stumped with this problem

It was not an OEM coil but after I replaced it the problem didnt get any worse or any better so i just figured that wasn't the issue and the carb rebuilt kit was neither OEM or shindy but I bought it because it had good reviews even though it wasn't a good name brand and yes the coil was from Amazon but the carb kit was not.

you just answered every thing your first post asked ^^^. get an oem coil ( used if ya have too ! ) same goes for the carb kit, if its not shindy or oem ?, your barking up the wrong tree here.

If you put any parts in your carb from that china kit other than gaskets & rubber o-rings, thar' be your most likely problem... put all of the OEM parts back in it, set it up according to the service manual recommendations 100%, including cables adjustments and put the OEM ignition coil back on it. Those good reviews came from Amazon employed shills. You were robbed by thieves.

Ok I will try to find a OEM coil and shindy or OEM carb kit and see if that fixes my problem. Thanks for the tips

I have a 1996 Honda Fourtrax 200 Type 2, I am trying to replace the carburetor but the old cap to the carburetor won't come off the throttle cable. It seems as if it is crimped on, is there way take it off because it is not the same size on the new carburetor.
