I have a strange problem with my 4 wheeler. I just recently noticed that when I am in 5th gear and going fairly fast I can feel and see the whole rear end drop down a few inches. Then it will just pop back up and make a loud noise. Has anyone ever had this happen and what could it be? :wacko:

welcome jmc256 helmut or shadetree should be able to answer that better but have you looked at it what does it sound like. have you lifted it and moved it through the travel

Welcome to the forums. I don't have any idea what could cause that. I've never seen anything like that happen before. Maybe Shadetree will have an idea.

welcome to the forums jmc256, from what your telling us..sounds like either your shock is bad..or your swing arm bearings are bad..alot of ppl never service thier swing arm bearings..and from what you said..it sounds like they are binding up..or your shock is worn out..check both..let us know what you find..oh..you will need a large 17mm allen wrench to take the lock nut out of your swing arms..each side has a swing arm bearing.
