I recently purchased a 300ex and noticed its only air cooled and the things HOT. There are no performance upgrades to it other than a UNA filter. I see people are cutting into the oil line. But i cant seem to find this oil line. Im not sure if its overheating or not but i do ride it pretty hard. Any help would be great. Also i cant get the starter button to work. all ive been doing is jumping the solonoid to get it to fire. Its working but want to fix it.

I have an oil cooler on my 250x and it still runs HOT.

Cut the line on the right crankcase cover that runs to the head. Its a steel tube, hook some rubber hose up to it and get a heat exchanger and mount it to the frame.

I use mobil 1 v-twin oil. Harley guys with temp sticks say it decreases engine temps about 10 degrees.

the oil cooler didn't blow it up, it was either installed wrong or he didn't put more oil in to compensate for the larger capacity.

The air cooled engine is more reliable. Look at the 400EX. that engine has been the same since the XR400 came out.
