This is my father in laws so I am going by the year he gave me. Anyway it quit running. Took the carb off and cleaned it good. Runs fine now except I can not get the idle adjusted right. It wants to idle to high sometimes and not enough at times. Before it quit running it started and idled fine. Could the throttle cable be sticking. Any help would be appreciated.

welcome to the forums. try adjusting the fuel mixture screw on the bottom of the carb. also make sure the choke valve is closing all the way. if it is held open a little it can cause it to idle poorly.

Thanks for the info. I have tried using the idle mixture screw. When first started it idles fine. If you rev it up a little it doent want to idle down correctly. It stays at a very fast idle. Same thing when driving it. However sometimes it works like it is supposed to. I thought maybe when I had the throttle cable loose I may have gotten it out of adjustment causing the problem. Going to look at it some more this morning.

Carb

Adjusted throttle cable some and it seems to do fine when you stop after driving. Sitting still it still wants to stay idled high if you use throttle. Noticed if you shake 4 wheeler side to side a little it idles back down. Is this the needle valve sticking causing this?

I would take the carb off and clean it again. Sounds like you might have missed something.
