It looks good and sounds good, but the guy said it would need 3 things. A airbox lid, the mount that mounts the gas tank to the frame (but he said as long as your sitting on the unit nothing will move) and a cylinder for a starter. The only thing I'm really worried about is the cylinder for the starter. Is this worth about $700? Thanks :grin

Airbox lid & tank mount minor. I then assume u are talking about the starter solenoid?? I assume it will only start by kick?? U can pick up a solenoid from Honda for I believe $150...

How much does he want for the quad?

Those 3 things wouldn’t scare ME off....

Tell him to point and take a picture of where something is missing. I would want to hear it run and would drive it to see if the wet clutch is okay.

If it looks good, not rusty and a bunch of cracked fenders—not knowing how well it runs or drives, yeah I’d consider it. Hard to say if it’s trail worthy. Keep in mind the parts for a machine this age are starting to be discontinued from Honda. You can still find them

You might end up putting twice to 3x in it if it needs work—it’s not a huge gamble. Do a lot of the work yourself if you have the time.

Wow what are you buying wheeler?! A bullet proof solenoid, maybe? Lol, Solenoids from my Honda Dealer, McKinney Honda Ruston, Louisiana has solenoids for my 2004 Recon 250 for no more than $35

I paid top dollar for the 93 300 I have now cuz I was at an auction and everyone wanted it. It has the optional cooling fan which boosts the value unless you consider the fan Parts are NLA!

I have $3300 in it now including the winch plow and mount. New seat. A arm guards.

You can get a used OEM solenoid from Powersportsnation for about $5-6 shipped. They're tested and good.

A solenoid for a 300 1995 is like around $60 OEM and a 2011 420 solenoid is under $20 , order the 420 and put it on your 300 and save $40 plus some

Don't they have a different plug on them? You can cut and splice....but if you want a direct fit I just grab a couple of used ones from PSN, easy and quick to swap them out.

Reason I said roughly $150 is because we in good ole CANADA! Where we get raped on everything! However it maybe cheaper... I did call Honda not to long ago to price one out... I'm sure the said either $120 or $150. I'll double check..

+wheeler Hahaha, good ole' Canada. I live in southern louisiana so stuff is pretty cheap around here. I checked PSN and a used and functional solenoid is $6.00. Honda Fourtrax 300 2x4 4x4 88-00 Starter Solenoid Relay (If I get the quad I will probably buy a solenoid the same day.)
