the shaft is in perfect shape, nothing wrong with it. its jsut the sprocket is loose.
A little movement is normal, as long as it's not too bad.

Well it's a little more then normal. Does that mean I need a new one?
I would PM Moose (TRX2FiveO) and ask his opinion. He owns a 250X, too, and knows a lot about them.

The clicking may not be your front sprocket.. check the rear for wear the teeth should not be sharp or pointy. also the chain guides may be worn. if your chain is too loose you will hear the noise also. There is movement in the front sprocket it will wiggle side to side and back and forth but if it's too much I would check the cogs where it slodes onto the shaft.
