Helping a friend with a project. He bought the ATV and seller had replaced the Wiring Harness, starter switch/left handle bar box, solenoid, stator, ignition module, and the motor does turn over. That’s good.

The bad is that it turns over when the positive wire is connected to the battery in any condition even if ignition switch is disconnected, cdi box is disconnected, and even if solenoid is disconnected. We disconnected wires and touched the positive cable to the battery to test connections. It turned over regardless. Could the starter be the issue,ie: won’t disengage? Can’t keep the positive cable on the battery since it will cause the engine to turn over.
