the kills switch may need to be cleaned out with WD40 while working it back and forth , remove the spark plug boot by unscrewing it , cut 1'4 off wire and rescrew it back together ,
make sure the cdi isn't from china , if the CDI you replaced the old one with was new and you paid $15-30 , that could very well be your problem , or maybe you got the wrong CDI , there are some cdi experts on here who know what fits what year
