Does the taillight on a 1991 Honda TRX200 get brighter when the brakes are applied or is it a constant brightness? I’m wondering if I can replace it with a cheap LED fixture or if I need to consider something else. Also, how often does a guy need to clean the centrifugal oil filter and oil screen? Looks like a bit of a process opening up the crankcase.

If I remember right the Honda 200s have an internal screen that you can't get at unless you split the case, and a centrifugal oil "slinger" that can be cleaned. No oil element that you change.

Right, that's what I'm getting at. How critical is it to clean the "slinger" and the screen at each oil change? I feel like I know the previous owners well enough to say that the likelihood of the "slinger" and screen ever having been cleaned is very low.

I've torn down 30 year old Honda trike motors that have had minimal gunk in the slinger. If I were pulling the side cover off to mess with the clutch I would look at the slinger but I don't know that I would pull the cover off just to look at it. I guess worst case is you have to buy a $10 gasket and invest some of your time for peace of mind.
