Hey need help I have a honda 250x starts up fine idles fine but when I ride and come to a stop it stall unless I keep my thumb on the throttle what can it be

It could be a few things... valve lash too tight, choke stuck or misadjusted, carb dirty or out of adjustment, leaking intake boot, clogged air filter, etc.
