I use an air impact wrench to loosen that big nut. If you don't have an impact wrench, you will need someway to hold the clutch, because the inside part will try to turn inside the clutch basket.

Don't forget to unstake the nut.

BTW, you should be able to put the discs in without removing the big nut. Just remove the 4 bolts and springs that hold the lifter plate on and remove the center of the clutch and the discs.

Don't forget to soak the discs in clean engine oil for about 30 minutes before you install them and make sure you use oil safe for wet clutches.

thxs...got everything on n how tight do the bolts have 2 be that hold springs on ?? should everything spin once tightened ??
9 ft-lbs. The inside shouldn't turn. The pressure of the springs pushing on the clutch discs should keep the inside of the clutch from turning. The whole thing should turn together, clutch basket, pressure plate, friction discs and all.

When you adjust your clutch cable, make sure you have a little free play in the lever, so it won't wear your clutch discs prematurely.

just snugg the 4 springs pretty good..and all the way down. for future refference..stick a screw driver between the clutch gear and centrifugal clutch gear..this will keep the clutch basket from turning.

I use Hondabond on all my gaskets, automobiles, ATVs, or anything else that uses a gasket.
